Samtskhe-Javakheti. On August 21, the coalition "Youth for Fair
Elections” has met in the Akhaltsikhe Civic Engagement Center with the
representatives of the young wing of local political parties.
Main topic of the meeting
focused on the 2012 October parliamentary elections, parliamentary and
presidential governance and the local self-government. The role and importance
of the civil society were also discussed.
The coalition functions with the
support of the International Republican Institute (IRI) and funding of the
US Agency for International Development (USAID). It aims to increase the
participation of youth in the elections. "Youth for Fair Elections” holds meetings
all over Georgia. Next meetings will be held in Marneuli and Zugdidi.
