Tbilisi. The Civic Development Institute has
organized the training for journalists in electoral issues from August 30 to
September 2. The training was held for 20 participating journalists as part of
the project "Citizen Journalists for Transparent and Fair Elections".
The participants got familiar with the electoral procedures, examples of abuses
of administrative resources and the legal regulations. In addition, the issues
related to the coverage of pre-election campaigns, the polling day and the
election results by the media, as well as the journalists' rights and
obligations were discussed at the training.
The project "Citizen Journalists for
Transparent and Fair Elections" is implemented with the support of the
United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).
