‘’Dialogue for the Development of Civil Sector’’

Tbilisi. The Consultations and Training Center (CTC) implements the project – "Dialogue for the Development of Civil Sector", which aims to promote public discussions on strong and weak sides of CSOs and search for ways of solving the problems within the sector.
Four thematic discussions were held as part of the project on the topics that were the key issues of the G-PAC orchestrated study – "Public attitude towards the civil society organizations". These issues are: relations between CSOs and the state, relations between CSOs and donors and international community, CSO standards and self-regulation.
After each discussion, working groups set up from the participating CSOs (four thematic groups) have worked on the problem analysis and development of recommendations.
Four thematic recommendation documents were developed.
Public attitude towards CSOs, April-May, 2012(thematic group consisted of representatives of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, Civil Society Institute, Georgian Young Lawyers' Association, Civil Development Agency, "SBO" Temka-Sea District, EEF, CIPDD, Caucasian House, CTC).
Relations between CSOs and the state, May-June, 2012 (thematic group consisted of representatives of CIPDD, the Association of Adults of Georgia, Civil Society Institute, Caucasian House, Tiflis Hamkari, Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia, Civil Council for Defense, CTC).
Relations between CSOs and the donors, June-July, 2012 (thematic group consisted of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, "Open Society – Georgia" Foundation, Civil Society Institute, "SBO" temka-Sea District, GEA, CIPDD, Consent, Caucasian House, CTC ).
CSO standards and self-regulation, July, 2012 (thematic group consisted of the Civil Society Institute, Energy Efficiency Foundation, Tiflis Hamkari, CIPDD, CTC).
At the end of the project, based on the thematic recommendations developed by the working groups, the integrated analytical and recommendatory document will be developed, which will be disclosed for review to general public.
The project "Dialogue for the Development of Civil Sector" is implemented as part of the Policy, Advocacy, and Civil Society Development in Georgia (G-PAC) program of the East-West Management Institute (EWMI).
