Tbilisi. Georgian Democracy Initiative released a statement regarding the detention of Gigi Ugulava. "We believe that there were no grounds for detaining Gigi Ugulava. The Prosecutor’s Office knew that, despite the charges brought against him in two criminal cases, G. Ugulava had left the territory of Georgia several times, though he always showed up at every court hearing in a timely manner and obeyed all demands of law enforcement bodies", says the statement.
