Researcher

Transparency International Georgia (TI Georgia) is seeking a researcher who will be part of the organization’s team working on the issue of integrity in public administration and anti-corruption reforms.

TI Georgia has an ongoing set of projects aiming to promote transparency and accountability of government and reduce corruption risks in public administration. In order to attain these objectives, the organization is engaged in continuous analysis of important issues in this field, as well as review of key public institutions, and offers recommendations that are based both on the assessment of local affairs and on international best practices. The successful candidate will work with other members of project staff on a variety of issues including anti-corruption reforms, transparency in government spending and interactions between government and private companies.

Main duties include:

● Work with the project manager and other members of the team to produce analytical reports and policy papers on various topics related to public administration and anti-corruption reform

● Prepare short articles on current issues for TI Georgia’s blog

● Collect information through desk research and interviews

● Communicate with government institutions, civil society organizations, and the media on the organization’s behalf and represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and meetings

● Help plan and organize conferences and presentations of TI Georgia’s reports

Qualifications

● A Master’s degree in social sciences, such as economics, political science, development studies, international relations or law.

● Good knowledge of Georgian public institutions and the political process

● Basic understanding of transparency and anti-corruption mechanisms, and willingness to learn more

● Ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research

● Excellent command of English and Georgian languages (both written and oral), including strong writing skills in Georgian language

● Strong command of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet research) and ability to work with various online tools
