Job Title:
Strategic Communications Officer (SCO)
Department: Marketing, Communications and Resource Development (MCRD)
Duty Station: is based in CARE Tbilisi Office. Periodic travel may be required.
CARE International in the Caucasus is seeking a Strategic Communications
Officer to support the development of a coherent profile for CARE in
the Caucasus and the execution of the organization's internal and
external communications plan.
The SCO is responsible for 1) increasing awareness and promoting CARE
Caucasus's image among various stakeholders 2) developing, implementing
and monitoring CARE Caucasus's PR strategy and action plan as well as PR
action plans for other centrally managed special projects and
supporting initiatives as they arise and 3) develop and maintain
internal communication through various PR approaches and tools.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Job Responsibility 1: Promote Public Relations and Communication
** Develop, implement and monitor CARE Caucasus' PR action plans;
** Develop and ensure effective cooperation with media (including
social media) to increase awareness and promote CARE Caucasus' image;
** Develop quarterly newsletter and ensure its distribution among various stakeholders;
** Maintain (develop) updated collateral reflecting programme and project activities;
** Organize media events/press conferences as required;
** Develop and execute CIC's social media engagement plan
** Conduct Field visits to develop CARE Caucasus' stories and case studies;
** Provide trainings to field staff in internal and external communication and PR as necessary;
** Provide trainings to staff in story writing and photo tips;
** Coordinate awareness raising events for CIC's programme
** Represent CARE at various PR events and implement PR recommendations as they arise;
** Provide to project design team for new project development with
necessary background documents statistical and other information, as
requested.
Job Responsibility 2: Increase Internal Communication
** Develop and maintain various PR tools to increase internal communication;
** Create and Maintain CARE Caucasus Archive and Library;
** In cooperation with MEALS, provide materials for the CIC database.
Job Responsibility 5: Other responsibilities
** Provide information as requested by MD and MCRD manager for CARE US records;
** Prepare external correspondence and manage information and messages for all staff;
** Translate documents/meetings between English, Georgian and Russian both oral and written, as required;
** Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required: Degree in Journalism, media management, public relations or in other relevant fields
Key requirements:
** Previous experience of at least three year working with an international organization
** Experience in PR strategy development and implementation
** Key contacts with media representatives
** Excellent Experience in both written and oral translation
** Desired: social marketing experience
Technical skills:
Key requirements:
** Strong written and spoken English/Georgian/Russian languages
** Strong ability in MS Office applications
** Strong presentation skills
