Within the framework of an on-going programme of cooperation, UNICEF will provide technical support to the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs (MoLHSA) to further improve the quality of and access to Mother and Child Health (MCH) services.
For this to happen the MoLHSA intends to reorganize preventive and counselling services for mothers and children based on the worldwide evidence and main strengths and weaknesses of the existing MCH services. It is expected that the suggested model of reorganization of primary level MCH services will strengthen its quality and coverage to address disparities and inequities.
Comprehensive assessment of the existing PHC system is required to serve as a background for the proposed model of MCH preventive and counselling services, including the budgetary implications.
Objective: To collect the data and information relevant for the current organization of PHC system in Georgia.
UNICEF Georgia aims at recruiting an organisation or team of national experts to obtain the evidence on the organisation of the Primary Health Care (PHC) for mother and children. Findings of this consultancy will serve as a basis for further development of the mother and child related PHC models and its costing. Therefore, the consultant or consulting firm is requested to collaborate with the other experts involved in the assessment and analysis of the current models of organization of in charge.
