Development Associate

USAID/Georgia manages a significant portion of the U.S. government`s (USG`s) development assistance in Georgia with an annual budget of approximately $75 million. The Mission staff includes approximately 21 direct hires and 61 local staff managing a portfolio of approximately 41 programs. The portfolio is organized to achieve three development objectives in the areas of resilience to countering malign influence; enhanced democracy, rights, and governance; and increased economic growth.

The Development Associate is a junior liaison between USAID/Georgia`s Strategy and Program Office (SPO) and the Economic Growth (EG) Office. This position is located in SPO, which provides leadership for strategic planning; budget planning and execution; project and activity development and implementation; performance monitoring, reporting, and evaluation, as well as outreach and communications. The incumbent supports the EG office in its contributions to all the aforementioned Program Office-led functions. The Development Associate reports directly to the Program Development Specialist who serves as the primary EG liaison. Rotations through other support offices may be arranged if time and needs allow to give the incumbent a larger view of USAID operations.
