World Vision International, one of the world's largest NGOs, operates in more than 100 countries. It is an international relief, development and advocacy NGO dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. This position is new and has been created to enhance disability inclusion within World Vision Georgia's policies and programs, and to manage a new inclusive education project which will take place in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Imereti.

Purpose of the position:

Social and physical factors often combine to exclude children and adults with disabilities from taking part in society - be it in education, work, community events etc. World Vision is looking for a candidate who will provide co-ordination, leadership and technical support to better enable World Vision Georgia to respond to the needs and rights of people with disabilities in its current and future programming, advocacy, and internally through organizational policies and processes. This element of the role will include the capacity building of staff and key stakeholders, developing relationships with key organizations (especially Disabled People's Organizations and Government bodies) and the development and management of a tailored internship for young person with disability. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for shaping and implementing a new two year inclusive education and social inclusion project in two regions of Georgia.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

** Management of an inclusive education and social inclusion project in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Imereti, including the oversight of an assessment of inclusive education implementation and support to the development of recommendations and next steps. Further, develop a 'link worker' system to support children with disabilities to attend mainstream schools and pre-schools, and a local level advocacy plan.

** Provide technical advice and support to World Vision colleagues to mainstream disability in all projects, programs and policies (e.g. in program development, communications, advocacy, HR, staff orientation, monitoring and evaluation, strategy development etc)

** Build capacity of staff, volunteers and community stakeholders through training and awareness raising to understand disability issues, models and intervention approaches (including undertaking Training of Trainers)

** Ensure effective representation of World Vision in relevant technical forums and task forces, with donors and other key stakeholders.

** Actively contribute to concept papers, proposal writing and partner identification when projects are disability specific.

Required qualifications:

Essential:

** Undergraduate or graduate degree preferably in disability studies, humanitarian aid/development or other related field.

** If qualification is not held equivalent level of work experience may be taken into account.

** At least 2 year managerial experience in the area of disability OR experience across a variety of development sectors

** Strong understanding of disability rights and inclusive education in particular

** Knowledge of the disability sector and inclusive education in Georgia

** Excellent English - to enable representation at international level and preparation of reports

** Ability to communicate and inspire others - thus Georgian language is essential

** Ability to influence, network and collaborate with government, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders (both mainstream and disability specific)

** Ability to support and develop staff and colleagues

** Highly organized, efficient and able to meet deadlines

** Excellent cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity

** Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication/advocacy skills

** Critical thinking, analytical and decision making skills

** Good interpersonal skills: ability to establish harmonious and effective working relationships with people from different backgrounds and positions

** Integrity, honesty, and accountability to both the WVG team and the community

** Intermediate MS Office skills.

Preferred:

** Working knowledge of Russian (written and spoken) (Preferred)

** Knowledge of disability inclusive programming

** Experience of conducting inclusive education trainings for instructional staff and stakeholders
