Study on the Costs to Litigants in Justice System

USAID Rule of Law Program is pleased to announce a request for proposals that aim to study the costs to litigants in the Georgian justice system. The work shall focus on the areas of:

Legal issues usually arising during/after divorce: division of property, child custody, child support, establishing paternity, etc.

Labor disputes: illegal dismissal and related compensations (reinstatement and damages)

Land registration disputes (administrative cases)

Microfinance/bank disputes related to unpaid loans (in this case, the cost to the defendants against who banks/financial institutions are pursing claims will be the focus)

Seeking compensation for damages caused by the actions of the state (police violence, mistreatment in custody, etc.)
