World Vision opened its office in Tbilisi in 1994 in response to the country's dire need for economic assistance and intervention in the lives of Georgia's poor and vulnerable. Today we have integrated program with several main program areas: Children in Especially Difficult Circumstances, Human Rights, Economic Development, Public Health and relief for conflict zones.
This position will provide sector expertise and support all youth project-related goals.
Purpose of the position:
The overarching purpose of this position is to generate and drive World Vision Georgia's strategic actions for Youth initiatives, training curricula development and capacity building for Area Development Program and National Office level staff within the scope of area.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
** Develop and track the implementation of the Youth National Office strategy complying with World Vision Georgia strategy and Partnership standards;
** Ensure the development of new Youth projects in line with the sector strategic direction;
** Support Area Development Program offices in implementation of youth focused project initiatives;
** Closely work with the World Vision Regional office representatives on refining project activities and sharing gained experience;
** Represent World Vision Georgia towards all national and international donors, partners, communities and beneficiaries in C&Y field;
** Provide technical/sector support to existing youth projects and capacity building to ADP and NO staff where identified and required;
** Pay regular field visits to participate in various youth related meetings for providing sector specific information and responses to community questions;
** Regularly update the World Vision Georgia team on changes and adjustments in the area of Youth (reforms, laws, policies etc.) happened within World Vision Partnership as well as in Georgia.
Required qualifications:
** BA Degree or higher in education, social sciences or similar field
** Experience in curricula development, design and delivery
** At least 3 years experience in NGO sector or similar in Georgia or elsewhere
** Experience in youth oriented project planning and implementation
** Experience of working with highly vulnerable groups including children living and working on the street
** Good understanding of youth advocacy initiatives and implied processes
** Collaboration experience with the ministries and national/international NGOs
** Experience in formal and non-formal educational settings;
** Fluent English to enable presentation at international level and preparation of reports.
** Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Georgian (preference will be applied on candidates with Russian language skills)
** Knowledge of social, educational and youth welfare sector in Georgia
** Highly organized, efficient and able to meet deadlines
** Strong prioritization and multi-task management skills
** Excellent cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity
** Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication/advocacy skills
** Critical thinking, analytical and decision making skills
** Good interpersonal skills: ability to establish harmonious and effective working relationships with people from different backgrounds and positions
** Intermediate MS Office skills
** Ability to communicate effectively, present the program to donors and partners, write well and express technical and business issues in a sensitive manner.
