The United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG) is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Lawyer (Civil and Administrative Law) in its Refugees and Migration direction.

UN Association of Georgia is a local non-governmental organization that has worked since December 25, 1995 to promote the principles of human rights and democratic governance and to provide Georgian society with the necessary skills for successful integration into the international community. UNAG has been a member of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) since 1996.

General description of the position:

The Lawyer will be responsible, under supervision of the Refugees and Migrations Programs Director, for the filing a Lawsuit and representation of asylum-seekers and refugees at the courts and administrative Bodies.

Detailed Description:

Evaluation of the case of asylum-seeker/refugee, Identification of Legal problems and arguments, preparation of necessary documents, Filing of Lawsuits, Representation of asylum-seekers and refugees at the courts and Administrative Bodies, etc.

Required skills:

** Higher Legal Education (Law or International law);

** Experience in Court representation;

** Certificate for the lawyers qualification exam in the civic or general sphere;

** Very strong interpersonal and communication skills.

** Knowledge of spoken and written English and Russian would be an asset.

** Perfect knowledge of the office software.

Desired skills: Demonstrated experience of working with Courts and Administrative Agencies.

Working conditions:

** Expected hiring date: 01 January, 2014.

** Duty station: Tbilisi

** Probation period: 3 month.
