The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland (ASB) is one of the biggest German aid and welfare organizations with more than 300 branches at national, regional, district and municipal level all over Germany. ASB Foreign Aid Department provides both direct emergency relief to people hit by man-made or natural disasters and longer-term rehabilitation measures designed to promote recovery and to rapidly help restore the livelihood of refugees, internally displaced persons and other vulnerable people. ASB implements its Foreign Aid activities in Asia, Eastern Europe, Central America and Africa. ASB has been working in Georgia already from 1992 to 1997 and reopened its Office in the country late 2010 focusing on Livelihood activities for Internally Displaced Persons, Disaster Risk Reduction and the provision of Social Services for the most vulnerable.
In January 2013, together with its local partner - IDP women's association, ASB started the project "Facilitating Civil Society Organizations involvement in municipal reform processes in Kvemo Kartli through the promotion of public-private social partnerships". The project is financially supported by the European Union. Three social enterprises have been established within the project framework in Bolnisi municipality, which will start delivering social services to the local communities in villages of Nakhiduri, Bolnisi and Kazreti from 2014 onwards.
ASB is seeking to recruit a Financial Consultant who will provide overall financial management of the activities of these enterprises.
Duties and responsibilities:
** Oversee the cash-flow of three enterprises and make sure funds are administered appropriately;
** Provide tailor-made consultations to the accountants of the enterprises and assist them in financial management;
** Travel to the project sites minimum once per month to provide face-to-face consultations;
** Assist the enterprises in preparing monthly financial reports to ASB.
Professional qualifications and experience:
** Degree in Accounting, Finances or other related field;
** Minimum one year experience in NGO financial management;
** Ability to prepare reports in English;
** Knowledge of Georgian tax code and financial regulations;
** Sound monitoring and analytical skills;
** Flexible to travel to the project sites as per the needs of the project;
** Readiness and ability to provide tailor-made consultations to the enterprises in person or over the phone.
