Chemonics International is seeking an Energy Policy Specialist for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Governing for Growth project. The project will focus on improving Georgia's economic governance and leadership in the areas of legal and regulatory framework as it relates to small- and medium-sized enterprises; regulating use of water resources; and regional energy trade.
The Energy Policy Specialist would work with the Governing for Growth project team to develop an improved energy trading mechanisms between Georgia and neighboring countries in order to improve investment into hydropower production. She or he would also promote improved capacity of Government of Georgia and non-governmental actors to develop, implement, and enforce energy policy reforms that support the overall competitiveness of Georgia's energy sector.
Qualifications:
** Advanced degree in relevant field
** At least six years of successful, applicable professional work experience
** Knowledge and experience with European energy market and directives and Georgia's energy regulatory framework
** Skilled and experienced in building the capacity of stakeholders
** Strong leadership abilities and experience
** Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate and engage with high level stakeholders
** Strong oral and written communication skills
** Experience working with international donors
** English and Georgian language fluency.
