The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Zugdidi is seeking candidates for the position of Field Officer, based in Zugdidi.
ICRC in Georgia implements a number of activities aiming at resolving the fate of those missing and support to their families (Accompaniment program). In order to reinforce the action for the missing persons and their families in West Georgia, an additional position of Protection Field Officer working on the issues of missing persons and their families is necessary.
Responsibilities:
Contributes to the implementation and running of activities relating to issues of Missing Persons and Their Families. In particular:
** In consultation with the Head of Program and with the technical support of the Regional Delegate for issues relating to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and the Psychologist in Tbilisi, facilitates the implementation of the "Accompanying Families of Missing Persons" program in West Georgia.
** Participates in the collection of ante-mortem data (AMD) regarding the persons still unaccounted for, ensures smooth implementation of the AMD and biological reference samples (BRS) collection processes in West Georgia.
** Maintains contacts with authorities at municipal level, local branches of the Georgia Red Cross Society, population, service providers, etc. under the supervision of the second Protection Field Officer based in Zugdidi.
Required qualification:
** High school degree
** 2 years work experience in a similar field
** Good command of written and spoken English and Russian
** Good computer skills
** Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
** Good analytical skills.
