I. Background:
IFES Georgia conducts a range of activities to support the development of democratic elections and political processes in Georgia.
IFES Georgia is seeking for qualified individuals to be contracted until July 2014 to provide written translation of the documents requested by IFES from English into Georgian and vice versa. The individuals shall meet the requirements listed below.
II. Scope of Work (SOW)/Specifications: Provide written translation from Georgian to English and vice versa, in a timeframe requested from IFES.
III. Submission requirements:
Ideal candidate shall meet the following criteria:
** University degree in English language;
** Work experience as an translator/on-call translator for international organization is highly desirable
** Previous experience in translating materials from Georgian into English minimum 3 years
** Fluent in English and Georgian;
** Excellent writing skills;
** Computer skills (word);
** Knowledge of political and election related terminology will be considered as a plus;
** High sense of responsibility;
** Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
All applications shall be submitted in English language and include current resume, cover letter, at least three references with contact information, examples of a previously-translated work (up to 1000 words in English accompanied by the Georgian original), net price of the service per page (2000 characters of the documents to be translated) in GEL, availability of the candidate to provide service on a short notice.
Applications must reference the RFQ number. Applications received after the deadline and incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications are to be sent to the attention of Ms. Tamuna Skhirtladze, IFES Office Manager, and must be sent via e-mail to: tamunaskhirtladze@ifes.ge. IFES will confirm receipt of any submissions sent via e-mail within 24 hours of receipt. Applicants are also encouraged to seek confirmation that their application has been received.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a computer-based translation test at the IFES office and may be asked to provide additional samples of their prior work.
IFES reserves the right not to enter into any contract, to add and/or delete elements, or to change any element prior to the contract at any time without any liability or obligation of any kind or amount.
Deadline for the submission: The applications are required to be submitted to IFES via e-mail by Thursday, February 14, 2014, 18:00 hrs.
IV. Evaluation criteria:
The candidate will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
1. Price (50%)
2. Previous experience (25%)
3. Qualifications (25%).
Evaluation criteria grading:
** Exceed Expectations - 10 Points
** Meet Expectations - 5 Point
** Do Not Meet Expectations - 0 Point.
