The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in Georgia is seeking a full time National Intern for its Tbilisi Office.
Unit: Protection
Number of vacancies: One
Duration of Internship: six months (with a one month probation period)
Start date: 3 March 2014.
Duties and responsibilities:
The intern will be engaged in the Protection Unit and is expected to fulfil the following tasks:
** Translate various types of documents;
** Assist in the monitoring of the situation of persons of concern to UNHCR as tasked by the supervisor and/or other UNHCR staff;
** Conduct research on various legal issues as tasked by the Office;
** Attend relevant meetings and workshops when deemed appropriate and relevant;
** Assist the Protection Unit and/or the Office in daily administrative tasks;
** Undertake all other appropriate tasks as needed.
Qualifications and requirements:
** Must be a graduate of law, international law or international relationships or on the 4th year of his/her study of the mentioned faculties;
** Excellent knowledge of English and Georgian. Knowledge of Russian is an asset.
** Translation and interpretation skills are required.
** Good communication and interpersonal skills;
** Computer literacy;
** Enthusiastic and motivated.
** Self-organized and punctual.
Remuneration: The internship is not paid.
