World Vision International in Georgia is announcing an opening for the position of Early Childhood Development Officer.

Location: Tbilisi, with national travel (up to 30% of time) a requirement and possible international travel

World Vision International, one of the world's largest NGOs, operates in more than 100 countries. It is an international relief, development and advocacy NGO dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. This position is new and has been created to enhance disability inclusion within World Vision Georgia's policies and programs, and to manage a new inclusive education project which will take place in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Imereti.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
** Undertake mapping of existing services in pre-school education sector and capacity gaps in three targeted regions (Imereti, Kakhet and Samtskhe-Javakheti) where World Vision Area Development Program operates;
** Identify training modules for preschool sector and facilitate increased capacity of caregivers of pre-school sector through trainings and development of preschool curriculum
** Work with the Ministry of Education and Science and other relevant stakeholders on development a national vision on preschool education in Georgia;
** Represent WVG towards all national and international donors, partners, communities and beneficiaries in pre-school education sector;
** Support advocacy initiatives aimed at policy changes within the pre-school education sector in Georgia;
** Support Area Development Program offices in implementation of early childhood development and/or pre-school education focused project initiatives;
** Provide technical/sector support to existing early childhood development focused projects and capacity building to ADP and NO staff where identified and required;
** Pay regular field visits to participate in various sector related meetings for providing sector specific information and responses to community questions;
** Regularly update the WVG team on changes and adjustments in the area of pre-school education (reforms, laws, policies etc.) happened within WV Partnership as well as in Georgia.
Required qualifications:
Essential:
** Undergraduate or graduate degree preferably in disability studies, humanitarian aid/development or other At least 3 years experience in NGO sector or similar in Georgia or elsewhere;
** Close collaboration experience with the Ministries and national/international NGOs;
** Experience of pre-school/early childhood development oriented project planning and implementation;
** Experience in training delivery;
** Good understanding of children rights advocacy initiatives and implied processes
** Experience in formal and non-formal educational settings;
** Experience of working with highly vulnerable segment is an advantage.
** Highly organized, efficient and able to meet deadlines
** Excellent cross-cultural understanding and sensitivity
** Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication/advocacy skills
** Critical thinking, analytical and decision making skills
** Good interpersonal skills: Ability to establish harmonious and effective working relationships with people from different backgrounds and positions
** Integrity, honesty, and accountability to both the WVG team and the community
** Intermediate MS Office skills.
