Duty station: Samtredia, Georgia
Regional Development Association is seeking candidates for the position of Cooperative Development Coordinator for the upcoming project under the EU European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) in Georgia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
** Under this Scope of Work, the candidate shall perform, but not be limited to, the specific tasks specified under the following categories.
** Participate in the design and implementation of the project action plan
** Cooperative development mobilizer oversees Cooperative development mobilizers' work, accumulate weekly reports from mobilizers and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports about development of cooperation component
** Plan and coordinate component activities, analyze development and suggest viable strategies of implementation
** Identify potential in agribusiness sectors and farmers' groups for establishment of cooperatives and work closely with groups to ensure successful implementation of projects
** Plan and carry out grant solicitation process, manage initial selection and training processes and preparation of candidate profiles for grant selection committee
** Work with the farmers' groups to ensure that they have the accurate price and marketing information
** Work with farmers' groups/cooperatives to improve their awareness on quality standards and elaborate mechanisms for their promotion
** Assist farmers' groups/cooperatives in their attempts to improve marketing capacity create sustainable commercial linkages with domestic processors, or end-markets (international and domestic)
** Perform other duties as requested by the Project Manager and/or the designee.
Required Skills and Experience:
** Education: Bachelor Degree (masters, especially MBA degree preferable) in Agriculture/Economy/Law, with pertinent technical knowledge
** Skill and Experience: At least 3 years of project management/coordination related experience, preferably in international organizations with focus on agriculture and or private sector development
** Experience in working in rural Georgia and/or with farmer groups is an advantage
** Good judgment and common sense, good communication skills, proven results
** Able to act independently
** Strong leadership/interpersonal skills
** Negotiation skills, ability to convince
** Understanding terms and conditions, project finance and cost initiative
** Available for frequent travel throughout the country - This position requires 80% presence in the field
** Clean driving license
** Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
** Language Requirements: Fluency in the Georgian and English Languages, Knowledge of Russian will be an asset.
