The International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mission to Georgia announces a vacancy for the position of Mobility Centre Counsellor in the IOM field office in Telavi.
Vacancy notice: Mobility Centre Counsellor (40 hours/week)
Duty station: Telavi
Start date: April 2014
Duration of contract:3 month renewable contract
Tasks of the Mobility Centre Counsellor:
Under the direct supervision of the Mobility Centre Coordinator in Telavi and overall supervision of the Project Management Team of IOM Georgia, the Mobility Centre Counsellor will be responsible for performing the following functions as part of the EU-financed project - Reinforcing the Capacities of the Government of Georgia in Border and Migration Management:
** Provide assistance in the implementation of all day-to-day activities of the Mobility Centre in Telavi, including the reintegration assistance for returned migrants and information provision and counselling for potential migrants;
** Pro-actively liaise with all local and regional authorities and service providers in the Kakheti province, with the aim to establish a region-wide referral mechanism in the areas of reintegration assistance and migrant information provision;
** Assist and/or deliver training sessions to project beneficiaries in the Kakheti province concerning:
- Professional orientation and career planning;
- Job search techniques including key competencies;
- Small business start-up;
** Hold regular meetings and coordinate project implementation activities with local stakeholders;
** Implement the monitoring of the individual reintegration projects that have been financed in the Kakheti province;
** Report on a weekly basis to the Mobility Centre Coordinator in Telavi and comply with all relevant reporting procedures as applicable to the project;
** Any other tasks as may be assigned.
Required qualifications:
** University degree, preferably in Political/Social Sciences or Law or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience of working in the field of migration will be an advantage.
** Outstanding interpersonal and representational skills, people-oriented personality, leadership qualities.
** Languages: Thorough knowledge of English, Georgian and Russian, both in speaking and writing.
** Very good verbal communication skills (Georgian, Russian and English).
** Personal commitment, dynamic personality, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking.
** Ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
** Computer literate in word processor applications, strong internet skills are an asset.
** Ability to write clear and concise reports.
** Previous work experience and interaction with government officials as well as non-governmental and international organizations is an asset.
** Knowledge of the business environment and micro-enterprise development issues in the Kakheti region is an asset.
** Only those candidates will be considered who live on a permanent basis in Telavi or within daily commuting distance from Telavi.
** Willingness to travel on a regular basis within the country.
** Willingness to be flexible with working hours when necessary.
