Mercy Corps is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Business Development Officer .
Duty Station: Marneuli.
General:
The Business Development Officer, Alliances Lesser Caucasus program, Kvemo Kartli, will be responsible for implementation of the program in Kvemo Kartli region, in the municipalities of: Tetritskaro, Dmanisi, Tslka, Marneuli, Bolnisi, Gardabani. S/he provides input in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the program interventions in Kvemo Kartli. S/he will directly interact with the clients, discuss business ideas and review client's applications as well as ensuring ongoing market analysis, ongoing facilitation and the in-flow of market intelligence pertaining to the value chains of his/her interventions. This information will be translated into results chains, investment plans, monitoring plans. S/he is also be responsible for formulating the intervention results chains for their portfolio, on which the results chains are based.
Primary responsibilities:
** Undertake the following responsibilities with Alliances Lesser Caucasus program implementation in Kvemo Kartli region
** Maintenance of client portfolio
** Plan, implementation and monitor of program activities related to outcome interventions
** Process of application forms
** Development of results chains
** Supervision and assistance with data collection, entry and processing in monitoring plan per respective intervention
** Monthly impact monitoring and evaluation of intervention impact (in monthly Monitoring Action Plan Meeting)
** Oversight of monitoring and evaluation of activities concerning respective client interventions.
** Development of Investment Plans
** Ongoing market analysis and the in-flow of market intelligence pertaining to the value chains of his/her interventions
** Careful implementation of procedures and conditions relating to investments
** Report on implemented activities
** Review of the investment plans
** Participation in the surveys and ongoing market research
** Assistance with data/information provision for bi-annual and annual reporting
** Assistance with information provision for the development of the tender/application packages and announcements (if required)
** Represent Mercy Corps in a professional manner
** Work with a positive, proactive attitude and demonstrate respect for all colleagues
** Work effectively in an energetic, team-oriented environment
** Other duties as agreed upon
** Development of gender sensitized interventions with responsibility for identifying through research and market analysis the inclusion of the appropriate steps in the results chain
Knowledge and experience:
** BA/S in agriculture and/or agribusiness or related field
** Experience in developing agricultural markets and value chains
** Experience and familiarity with implementation of Making Markets Work for the Poor approach.
** Knowledge and experience in disaster risk reduction, gender and governance
** Resident of the region
** Preference given to candidates with local language skills
Key requirements:
** Resident of Marneuli is preferred
** Experience in similar position
** Excellent communication skills
** Fluent in English language, spoken and written
** Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft office programs.
** Experience and qualifications in business development
** Represent Mercy Corps in an appropriate, friendly and professional manner.
** Contribute towards a positive, energetic and team-oriented atmosphere in the office place
** Entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability and an ability to think creatively around market development problems.
** Excellent communication skills.
