Book Translation Program (PAS)

Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy Tbilisi is pleased to announce the 2014 Book Translation Program.
PAS is soliciting proposals from publishing houses and academic institutions to translate books by American authors under the following themes:
•Public Policy: general public policy, also public policy on issues related to the environment, agriculture, health, and education management.
•Media: media ethics, media management, mass communicationand related topics.
•International Relations: international relations, foreign policy,and related topics.
•Law: international law, intellectual property rights, jury trials, and related topics.
•Economics: business administration, economics, and related topics.
•Arts and Literature: contemporary art, architecture/design, contemporary literature, and related topics.
The program requires 50% cost-share and minimum print run of 1,000. Profit received from the project should not exceed 25% of recipient organization/institution’s expenditure. Recipient is responsible for requesting permission from the copyright holder. Recipients are required to provide 50 copies of a publication to PAS, and free copies of the publication to public libraries and higher education institutions.
Program proposals (application attached) should be emailed to Anna Kharibegashvili at TbilisiPAS@state.gov no later than March 31, 2014.
