The Peace Corps first started its program in Georgia in 2001 and since then more than 500 volunteers have served in the regions of Georgia in the English Education program, the Individual and Organizational Development program, and the Peace Corps Response program. In addition, all volunteers also work in the areas of youth, gender, and technology. A new group of Volunteers arrives in Georgia every year. The fifteenth group of volunteers will arrive in Georgia in April of 2015. All volunteers will complete an 11 week intensive training course, which is called Pre-Service Training (PST), and following this training, volunteers will live and work in the regions of Georgia for two years.
