The Peace Corps first started its program in Georgia in 2001.Since then more than 500 volunteers have served in the regions of Georgia in the English Education project, the Individual and Organizational Development project, and the Peace Corps Response program. In addition, all Volunteers work in the areas of youth, gender, and technology. A new group of Volunteers arrives in Georgia every year. The fifteenth group of Volunteers will arrive in Georgia in April 2015. They will complete an 11 week intensive Pre-Service training course and then live and work in the regions of Georgia for two years.
