Peace Corps is a non-political, non-religious, non-profit agency of the United States government that was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy. Peace Corps is a people-to-people organization that relies on the dedication and commitment of qualified American women and men who contribute to the social, economic and human development of countries requesting assistance. Its mission is to promote world peace and friendship, through the productive exchange of knowledge and expertise between Peace Corps Volunteers and local communities
