Developing Municipal Youth Policy Document

Background:
Youth is a significant asset for Georgia's long-term democratic and socio-economic development. The age of youth is an important period during which biological and psychological growth and development of individuals and their integration into the society take place.
Throughout this period, young people try to develop skills and abilities in order to play their roles across various areas of the public life without hindrance, and to fully realize their potential.
The Youth Policy at municipal level aims at encouraging establishment of relevant environment for comprehensive youth development to fully capitalize on their abilities and be actively involved in all the spheres of public life.

Taking into account the best practices existing at the European and international level, the Municipal Youth Policy document should regulate a wide range of issues related to the development of 14-29-year-old-youth with joint efforts of state agencies, youth, civil society, private sector and international and local organizations.
