Shida Kartli. The Gori Youth Center functioning with
the Gori Club of the Disabled has celebrated the World Remembrance Day of AIDS
Victims. Together with 30 volunteers, the Center members have lit candles in
the street, by which they have expressed solidarity with persons affected by
AIDS and their relatives.

Tbilisi. On May 18, the Community Development Center
(CDC) has organized in the exhibition hall of the Caucasian House the
exhibition-sale of items created in the Nukriani and Napareuli workshops -
social enterprises.
The Nukriani and Napareuli
workshops are the social enterprises. Currently up to 15 women work in the
workshop. CDC aims to support the strengthening and development of workshops as
social enterprises, which is a precondition of activation of the women's
community and their greater participation in the rural development.

ShidaKartli. The Gori
Youth Center functioning with the "Gori Club of the Disabled" has
celebrated the International Day of Families by assisting the economically poor
families. Since 1994, the UN General Assembly annually celebrates on May 15 the
International Day of Families. On May 15 the representatives of the Youth
Center have assisted three extremely poor families by presenting them with the
food and essentials.

Adjara. To celebrate the 68th anniversary of
victory over Fascism on May 9, the association "Deserving Old Age"
has hosted the World War veterans residing in Kobuleti.As
part of the project "Social Center for the Elderly", the Chair of the
Association, project journalist, single-seat MP of the Adjara Supreme Council
and the project expert have congratulated the veterans with the Victory Day.Source:

Imereti. On May 2, the
Research-Intellectual Club "Dialogue of Generations” and the Kutaisi Youth
Parliament functioning with the Kutaisi City Hall have held the joint Loesje
initiative. The initiative was organized as part of the project "Anti-Bet”,
which is funded by the Czech NGO Nesekhnut. Key objective of the initiative is
to attract public attention to the high degree of participation of minors in
the gambling sector. Loesje is a short text notice, which consists of short
sentences and carries a positive message. The participants have disseminated
these messages among the citizens city-wide.

Tbilisi. As part of the project "Independence”,
from April 30 to May 18 the Polish specialists will deliver trainings organized
by the "ARI ARI” Foundation for the blind in the space orientation, which
include teaching of the space orientation to the blind persons, use of hearing during
the orientation and the preparation of binaural recordings and tactile maps.
The
Polish Foundation "ARI ARI” and NGO "Mariani” have developed the binaural
recordings jointly. It includes recordings made in various streets and metro
stations, as well as sightseeings of Tbilisi.

Tbilisi. On April25, "Penal International Reform"
has organized the round table on the "Children in the Georgian justice
system". Meeting participants have discussed the following issues:
protection of children from violence in the police and penitentiary
institutions; juveniles in the penitentiary system - developing processes,
planned changes; post-release assistance/rehabilitation programs and
alternative sentences and measures.
The round table was attended by the representatives
of various local and international NGOs and the Ministry of Corrections and
Legal Assistance of Georgia.

Tbilisi. The Georgian Care Platform was presented
on April 25. The Platform was founded in the beginning of April by the four
thematic organizations - the Georgian Harm Reduction Network, Caritas Georgia,
the Georgian Mental Health Coalition and the Georgian Homecare Coalition. The
Georgian Care Platform aims to promote the introduction and development of the
care approach based on human rights in the public health and social protection

ShidaKartli. On April 22, the Women's
Information Center has organized the consultation meeting built on the
"One Stop Shop" principle. The meeting aimed at discussing the
unresolved problems of IDPs and victims of the conflict residing in the
ShidaKartli Region and resolving them. Meeting participants have discussed 11
cases, as individual, as well as common problems of the community. Examination
of each case included in addition the identification of ways of the problem
solution.

Samtskhe-Javakheti. On April 22, the Samtskhe-Javakheti regional association
"Tolerant" has organized a flash-mob in Akhaltsikhe, with
participation of scores of children. The flash-mob aimed at supporting the full
integration of former inmates and probationers into the society.Flash-mob was organized as
part of the ongoing project – "For the Integration and Rehabilitation of
Former Inmates and Probationers of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region". The
project is funded by the EU and for this very reason the mobile information
center of the EU has joined the event of organization "Tolerant".
Adjara. On April16, "Welfare
Foundation" has met with the representatives of CSOs based in the Adjara
Region in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center. Majority of attendees works on
the social projects. The meeting aimed to get familiar with the results of
study carried out by the coalition – "Future without Poverty" – and
to provide information about the principles and terms of their affiliation.

has developed a new social video on the issues of persons with disabilities. It

Adjara. On April 15, NGO "Borjghali"
has organized a meeting in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center, at which it has
presented the program - European Volunteering Service (EVS)
- to the civil sector representatives, students and other interested persons.
It is one of the constituent parts of the youth program - Youth in Action -
funded by the European Commission, which aims to promote deeper solidarity
among the youth through the volunteer activities.
Kakheti. The Telavi Youth Initiative Group carries
on the initiative "Books for Prisoners”. On April 9, another event was held in
the Telavi Media Cafe aimed at collecting the Georgian-language books for the
prisoners.Achi Mchedlishvili, member of the Initiative
Group: "Our initiative will
succeed when prisoners have more books. Unfortunately, this is still a luxury
for many penitentiary institutions. The Telavi Public Library decided to
present 500 books to inmates. Many thanks to everyone who assists us in the
implementation of this initiative, and to those who have brought at least one
book for the inmates.”

"Let's Make Friends with Persons with Disabilities" has organized the
visit of the schoolchildren of the Blind Children's School and the
Georgian-British Academy to the Akhaltsikhe Fortress.
Blind
children were guided by the schoolchildren of the Georgian-British Academy.
They underwent special training not to cause problems to the blind during the
movement.
Samtskhe-Javakheti. Through the joint efforts and initiative of CSO
"All for All" and the psychological service center "Green
House", the exhibition of paintings and handcraft items of up to ten
children with disabilities was opened in the Akhaltsikhe Civic Engagement
Center. The works will stay in the Civic Engagement Center for two weeks.
Tbilisi. Parents of persons with disabilities have
sent an appeal to the Prime Minister of Georgia concerning the funding of the
day center services.

Guria. Since May 1, the CSO "Guria Youth Resource
Center" launches the Employment and Small Business Support Program for the
probationers. The Employment Program includes one-month training course for
probationers in the development of professional skills, internship, and real
employment in various institutions.
The Small Business Support Program includes
two-month business management course and the micro-grants program for the
probationers wishing to start up their own business.
Each program is designed for 30 probationers. Age
limit is 18-35 years and it
does not apply to ladies.

launch from May1 in the CSO Guria
Youth Resource Center.The

Kutaisi.On April 2, the
Kutaisi Youth Center has celebrated the World Autism Awareness Day with an
information campaign. Especially for this day, the Youth Center has prepared
the brochures and organized a march in the city’s central districts. Members of
the Youth Center have disseminated brochures among the population and explained
to the passers-by what autism is.

Guria. 2nd of
April, the World Autism Awareness Day, was celebrated in the Ozurgeti Civic
Engagement Center. The Civic Engagement Center and the Guria multi-disciplinary
team of inclusive education have organized an information meeting for persons
working with children suffering from autism. The meeting was attended by the
teachers of the Ozurgeti kindergartens, who were briefed about the relations
with children having autistic spectrum and discussed concrete cases from their
practice.
Samtskhe-Javakheti. As part of the "Civic Education and Teacher
Training Program", at the initiative of the civic club of the village
Atskuri public school of the Akhaltsikhe Municipality and through the support
of the school administration, the charity concert titled "Everything Will
Be All Right" was held at the end of March to assist the schoolchildren
with diabetes.Charity event was
organized to assist two schoolchildren suffering from diabetes, and the club
members were assisted by the Akhaltsikhe Youth Center, other schoolchildren,
teachers and the parents.
