International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Batumi
Adjara. Youth CSO "Art Way"
and the "Changes for Equal Rights" have jointly organized a meeting
on December 3 in the Batumi Press Cafe. The meeting, titled a
"Triangle", aimed to inform the audience about the role of the state,
public and the community of persons with disabilities in the process of
inclusion of persons with disabilities. This meeting was dedicated to the
International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3. Meeting
participants have discussed raising of public awareness and the use of
discriminatory terms. Persons with disabilities still name non-adapted
environment, unresolved employment issues and harmonization of Georgian
legislative acts with international documents among the most urgent problems.
Representatives of local CSOs, state agencies and the Youth Center have
attended the meeting.
