Petition on Statements by Leaders of the Georgian Dream – Industrialists Faction
Tbilisi. CSOs have released a petition on the recent anti-western statements made by leaders of the Georgian Dream – Industrialists parliamentary faction.
"We are extremely concerned over recent opinions expressed by leaders of the parliamentary majority faction "Georgian Dream - Industrialists", Messrs. GogiTopadze and Zurab Tkemaladze, which raise doubts on Georgia's integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures. This can be clearly qualified as an attempt to indoctrinate nihilistic attitudes towards Georgia's euro-integration course and to introduce open and evident anti-western attitudes.

We urge the coalition and political councils of "Georgian Dream" to discuss and react adequately to statements by members of the "Georgian Dream" coalition council, because the country's European and Euro-Atlantic course is a choice upheld by the population of Georgia at the referendum, and an aspiration of our society. Hence, statements made by some members of the "Georgian Dream" coalition, that these are allegedly personal opinions of Messrs. GogiTopadze and Zurab Tkemaladze, cannot be accepted by the majority of the Georgian society, which had expressed its support of the western course years ago", the petition states. The petition...
