Open Governance Index 2015 - Georgia's Achievements and Challenges

According to the Institute for the Development of Freedom of Information, the 2015 Open Government Index of the "World Justice Project" was released on March 26, in which Georgia has received 0.61-point evaluation (out of maximum 1 point). With this result, it reached a top place among 13 countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, while holding the 29th place among 102 countries globally in terms of open government. With this result Georgia has surpassed European states like Slovenia, Macedonia, Greece, Croatia. The following states have received highest evaluation: Sweden, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands.
Rankings are based on evaluations and perceptions of citizens of relevant countries. In case of Georgia, the results are based on responses of 1000 respondents obtained in 2014 in Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi. They have evaluated the Government's openness based on four basic factors.
