Tbilisi. September 21 is the International Day of Peace.

''This day serves to strengthen and spread the idea of peace between peoples. The theme for 21 September 2017 is "Together for peace". Its aim is to unite the representatives of all groups of society around the idea of strengthening the culture of peace.

According to the Public Defender of Georgia, peace is of vital importance for Georgia, where we strive to establish a society based on respect for human dignity, in which human equality and peaceful and harmonious coexistence of different ethnic, religious and social groups will be ensured. Peacebuilding requires involvement and tireless efforts of every member of the society'', is noted in the statement.
