Adjara. On August 14, the Citizens’ Advisory Committee
functioning with the self-governing city Batumi’s Sakrebulo and the Batumi
Civic Engagement Center have organized the meeting between the representatives
of administration of the "Batumi Water” and the representatives of
apartment-owner partnerships in the Batumi Civic Engagement Center. Improvement
of the water supply system, installment of water meters and the quality of
water in Batumi were discussed at the meeting, as well as the new procedures
for connecting the customers to the drinking water network. After the
presentation the representatives of "Batumi Water” have answered the questions
of attending audience and the meeting has continued in the questions and
answers mode. The Citizens’ Advisory Committee plans to organize public
meetings with the population on issues of concern in the near future also.
