Part of a working group working on legislative amendments
related to secret surveillance has appealed to the Parliament Chairman.
"We became aware of legislative initiative by one of the group members,
Mr. Shalva Shavgulidze, pursuant to which legislative regulation of
uncontrolled and unlimited access of law-enforcement agencies to personal
information available in the electronic communications companies will be
postponed from November 1 of this year to April 2015. ... This legislative
initiative was drafted in the Legal Affairs Committee without agreeing with the
group working on this issue, which is unacceptable as it ignores members of a
working group set up by the Legal Committee based on the law specifically for
this subject matter", the statement says.
