Meeting with Representatives of the Czech Public Defender
Tbilisi. On
October 27-30, 2014, the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia received
representatives of the Department of Family Issues and National
Preventive Mechanism of the Public Defender of Rights of the Czech
Republic who arrived with a three-day study visit.
In the
framework of the visit a special attention was paid to methodology of
monitoring of the National Preventive Mechanism. With the purpose of
acquiring better knowledge of the issue the guests visited establishment
N8 of the penitentiary department. They spoke about legal rights and
application of right to healthcare of minors in penitentiary facilities;
intensity and means for communication between a child and a parent;
they learned more about recommendations issued by the Public Defender of
Georgia and the issue of their application.
