Seminars Conducted by the Gelati RWC in Neighboring Villages
Imereti. The Gelati Rural Women
Council (RWC) continuous active work on raising
the environmental awareness of local population. In November of the current year, seminars
on sustainable management of natural resources and ways of solution of
environmental problems were conducted by the RWC in the villages of Orpiri,
Kursebi and Motsameta, Tkibuli Municipality. The seminars were attended by
various stakeholders, local residents and schoolchildren.
The meetings were organized
within CENN regional initiative "Strengthening and Engagement of Rural Women in
Natural Resources Management in the South Caucasus Countries”. The goal
of the initiative is to strengthen the capacities of rural women in Georgia,
Armenia and Azerbaijan; to support their active involvement in the management
of natural resources; and to sustain regional cooperation.
The initiative is being
implemented with the financial support of EED.
