Candidate for Ombudsman Met with the Civil Society
Kakheti. The
candidate for Ombudsman Nina Khatiskatsi has met with the civil society and
presented her action plan in the Telavi Civic Engagement Center on November22.
Representatives of the local self-government, NGOs, education institutions and
media outlets have attended the meeting.
At the meeting Nina Khatiskatsi spoke about the
functions and strategies of the Office of Public Defender. The discussion has
also concerned the problems and challenges that the Public Defender's Office
faces today.
"Today's meeting aimed at
informing the broad public about the functions of the Public Defender's Office.
In addition, I spoke about my plans that I will implement should I be appointed
as the Ombudsman. The public was quite active", - Nina Khatiskatsi has
said.
During the discussion the attending audience had
an opportunity to pose questions of interest to the candidate for Ombudsman.
