Examination of Draft 2013 Budget of Self-Governing City Batumi
Adjara. On November 22, the "Citizens' Advisory Council"
held a meeting with the Batumi-based NGOs in the Batumi Civic Engagement
Center, together with the City Hall and Sakrebulo of the self-governing city
Batumi, at which the draft 2013 budget of Batumi was discussed. A day earlier,
on November 21, the "Citizen's Advisory Council" held an open door
day together with the City Hall and Sakrebulo of the self-governing city Batumi
in the conference hall of the Batumi State University. The draft 2013 budget of
the self-governing city Batumi was presented at the meeting. This draft was
submitted for examination to the Sakrebulo on November 15, and it must be made
familiar to the citizens and respective recommendations must be submitted to
the self-government until November 25. The Mayor of Batumi JemalAnanidze, the
Minister of Finance and Economy Giorgi Tavartkiladze and the Head of the
Finance Service of the Batumi City Hall ArchilVanadze have made the
presentation. Representatives of the local population and students have attended
the meeting. The presentation has resulted in the discussion, where the
attending audience had an opportunity to receive answers to all issues of
concern and to provide their comments and recommendations.
