New Program for the Media and Civil Society Representatives
Samtskhe-Javakheti. On November 26–27, the International Center on Conflict and Negotiation (ICCN)
held a meeting in the Akhaltsikhe Civic Engagement Center with the media and
civil society representatives, which served as a research phase in the focus
groups for collecting the primary data. The results of this research will be
the basis of the organization's new, two-year program - "Power's in us - development
for the peace, effective management of diversity and gender equality". The
project will be implemented in 3 regions - Samtskhe-Javakheti, Samegrelo and
Shida Kartli.
"The two-year program
administered by our organization will be based on this information. In
Akhaltsikhe it will work with the media and civil society representatives. At
today's meeting we discussed two types of problems: coverage of gender and
diversity issues by the media", – said the Program Manager for Ethnic
Minorities and Gender Issues Nana Berekashvili.
The meetings in the Akhaltsikhe
Civic Engagement Center will last until the end of the week.
