Kakheti. Association "Woman and Business" has organized a workshop in Telavi on - gender equality and increased women's participation in agribusiness.

The meeting aimed to inform the local population on gender equality and promote increased women's role in the agricultural activities. Further, the meeting aimed to obtain information about their problems and needs, solution of which will lead to increased women's contribution in agriculture and assist their economic empowerment.

With financial support of the British charity organization Oxfam-Georgia, the Association "Business and Woman" and the Georgian Business Development Center are implementing a joint project "Powerful Women in Rural Areas". The project aims to support women's leadership for sustainable development of agriculture and economic growth - through the awareness-raising campaign.

The project is implemented as part of the European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD. Programme's web page: www.enpard.ge). The Programme is funded by the EU.
