Access to Public Information in Georgia - Report Summarizing 2010 – 2015

Tbilisi. On December 11th, 2015 the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) held presentation of the report summarizing situation of Freedom of Information in Georgia during 2010-2015. The report was prepared within the framework of the project ''Public Information Database – www.opendata.ge''. The project has been implemented by IDFI since 2010, with the financial support of Open Society – Georgia Foundation and Open Society Foundations.
''Out of 286 administrative agencies, eight institutions completely ignored all FOI requests thus violating the requirements of law. Seven sub-entities of the Ministry of Justice (Center for Crime Prevention, Training Center of Justice, National Archives of Georgia, Notary Chamber of Georgia, Legislative Herald of Georgia, Public Service Development Agency, LEPL "SmartLogic”) as well as Tsalka Municipal Council left all requests of IDFI unanswered'', is noted in the statement.
