Statement of the Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises Association
Tbilisi. The Georgian Small and Medium
Enterprises Association has released a statement on January 18 in relation to
the President’s initiative – decriminalization of economic crimes. The
statement says: "Year and a half ago our Association has launched the campaign
with the same demand. The Association has carried out relevant analysis of the
Tax and Criminal Codes (with the support of USAID, EWMI, EPF) and developed
concrete recommendations that were provided to the authorities back in 2011.
Unfortunately, changes were not made then, as the authorities lacked enough
will to make this move.”
