Social Networks and Standards of Journalistic Ethics
Tbilisi. On January 31, GIPA and the club Frontline Georgia have organized the discussion on the social networks and standards of journalistic ethics. What are the social networks for journalists – personal or public space? How does the audience perceive their posts on Facebook? Where does the boundary lie between personal beliefs and the position of the editorial house? How should we be flexible and at the same time not lose the sense of responsibility? – these are the questions that the discussion participants of the club "Frontline Georgia” attempted to answer on January 31. The participants have not developed the rules of behavior in the social networks, as in their opinion this is the topic of further numerous discussions. Yet, the participants have agreed that the journalists’ actions in the social networks should not exert influence on his/her and the publication’s trustworthiness and impartiality.Source: media.geThe recording – Social Networks and Standards of Journalistic Ethics.
