Tbilisi. "Transparency International Georgia” publishes a statement regarding video clips broadcasted on a TV Company "Obieqtivi”.
"On June 15, the National Communications Commission acknowledged "Rustavi 2” as a violator due to the fact that it broadcasted a political advertisement on its air during a non-pre-election period. The case appeared to be precedential and with this decision broadcasters were prohibited to transmit a political advertisement on their air during a non-pre-election period.
Nevertheless, during last two weeks a TV Company "Obieqtivi” actively broadcasts on its air different video clips, in which members of a political union – the "Alliance of Patriots of Georgia” talk about various topics, including their personal vision about formation of the Constitution, mistakes of the government, and call on the audience to participate in a demonstration planned by the party. We consider that the Georgian National Communications Commission and the State Audit Office should get interested in the mentioned action as well” – is noted in the statement.
