Adjara. Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC) and Tolerance and Diversity Institute (TDI) call on the Batumi City Court to ensure timely review of the case and to adhere to basic standards of fair trial while engaging in court proceedings related to construction of a new mosque in Batumi.

"Despite recognition of a systematic problem of overloading in courts, we consider that in this particular case the court has violated all reasonable deadlines for case review, which constitutes an important element of fair trial” – is noted in the statement of EMC and TDI, which represent interests of the Muslim community in the court.
