Response of Women's Movement to Minister of Economy of poor country

Tbilisi. Women's Movement responds to a statement of Minister of Economy – ''There are housewives who declare that they do not want to work. Besides, there are also people of various categories who say they do not want to work at all''.
''According to the latest data, women who, in the opinion of the Minister, ''do not want to work'' spend thrice more time on non-paid household activities than men. Employed women spend 42 hours, on average, on work at home – which indicates that they carry out double workload. 49% of women saying they do not work declare that a reason to it is domestic duties'', - the statement reads.
Women's Movement urges the Minister to set a meeting.
