Statement of the Human Rights Center
Tbilisi. The Human Rights Center demands timely and effective investigation of alleged crime committed by Chief of Police and other police officers of Lagodekhi.
The Kakheti office of the Human Rights Center defends Tariel Sheitnishvili, who got detained by the police administratively on December 1 for resisting police. During the arrest police officers used physical force, as a result of which health condition of Tariel Sheitnichvili was seriously affected.
The Human Rights Center urges Investigative Department of the State Inspector’s Service to timely and effectively investigate the alleged fact of violence and humiliating treatment committed by the police.
