Results of Four-Month Monitoring over Administrative Cases

Adjara. "Transparency International - Georgia" published the results of the four-month monitoring over administrative court cases in the Batumi Democracy Engagement Center on June 28. Based on the monitoring of 252 court hearings, the organization has revealed both strong and weak sides of the court. The following can be concluded based on the data: besides individual exceptions, the principle of publicity of court hearings is not violated, and the principle of adversariality is observed in majority of cases.
Pursuant to the data, 92,6% of disputes were decided fully or partially in the state's favor. 70% of hearings in Batumi started late. As another problem worth mentioning, court hearings often were not announced in advance.
"Transparency International – Georgia" carried out monitoring with the financial support of G-PAC.
