IDFI responds to developments related to the Namakhvani HPP project

Tbilisi. The Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) releases a statement in regard to developments around the Namakhvani HPP project.

“It is almost six months now that there takes place a continuous peaceful protest in Georgia against the Namakhvani HPP project. Developments evolved alarmingly on April 11, when police dismantled tents of participants of the protest and, at the same time, restricted lawyers/human rights defenders and journalists to enter the area”, - is noted in the statement.
