Tbilisi. On June 3, 2013 at Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, school-based civics club students from Tbilisi, Mtskheta-Mtaneti, Shida Kartli and Kvemo Kartli regions took part in a competition on "Ethnicities and Religions in Georgia”. Competition was organized by the Tolerance Center of Georgian Public Defender’s Office to increase the knowledge of students about different ethnicities and religions and to promote intercultural tolerance.To prepare for the competition, students have studied the books "Ethnicities in Georgia” and Religions in Georgia”, which are published by the Tolerance Center of the Georgian Public Defender’s Office. Civics club of Marneuli public school #5 won the competition. All teams, including the winners and participants went on a tour and visited Synagogue, Mosque and Gregorian church and had an opportunity to receive more information about these religions. Competition was supported by the Applied Civic Education and Teacher Training Program (ACETT), which is implemented by PH International in Georgia.
