Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kakheti. The "International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy"
and the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association hold the presentations of election
portal in the regions. Last week the presentations were held in Akhaltsikhe
(the Akhaltsikhe Civic Engagement Center) and Gurjaani (ISFED office).
Representatives of local public,
CSOs and political parties have attended the presentations.
The portal aims to provide
comprehensive information on the 2012 parliamentary elections to the public. It
will provide information on violations reported during the pre-election period,
on the polling day and afterwards.
According to the Kakheti regional coordinator of
NGO "Fair Elections" Nana Devidze: "Various NGOs, media outlets, representatives of
political parties, persons interested in elections and others can use the
information available on the portal. Most importantly, the citizens can upload
the information on the site concerning the alleged violations and incidents
during the election period. Further, the toll-free sms number 2500 is working,
to which any citizen can text information from any mobile network".
